I often heard some overseas Laotians claimed that we originated from Yunnan, China in which I tend to believe them based on their pretty round eyes; as you know, Chinese eyes are quite different. On average, Lao people have bigger eyes than Vietnamese or Chinese and less slanted unless we were mixed with their races. However, it makes sense if primitive Laotian migrated from China but many of us share facial feature and dark complexion with Khmer, so it might have had been after Khmer occupation of Laos. Please enlighten me if I am wrong.
