The day that the US and western countries stop buy the cheap products such as toys cloth or flags things that the US and the western countries could live without them that day million of Chinese workers will not have jobs my friend ape. Or any problem in politic with the US and the western countries and then sanction the China products and wait and see how many million Chinese will out of jobs. But the US and the western countries could easily live without products which are made in China.

living cost in laos now so high. you can buy a chicken for $ 4-6 (USD)
but most of people earn only around $80-$150 per month

you can buy chicken in USA at the same price. i work as manufacturing assembler
in the US i make $2300/month (gross), net $1700/month. i think i like here better confuse

Cambodia will be OK becuase Cambodia has oil and natural gas after drilling oil ,Cambodia will have the income from oil for 4 to 5 billion dollars per year but Laos , the people must work harder and student must study harder. Could not depend on hydro power dam , timber, mines and tourists alone.

If he live in north or south Carolina, south Dakota three bedroom two bath nice house good quiet neighborhood only $500-$700 That enough for him,he can have money to spend plus he can have (sao noi) hang around with him.I don't talk about living in newyork or LA that expensive city in america.

Hi, I am a Khmer student (senior high-school ) from Phnom Penh, Kingdom of Cambodia.

Cambodia is my heart, my soul and my life.

Cambodia once used to be the most influential kingdom in 11-12th BC (Angkor Empire) in S.E.A, but now we are one of poorest countries in the world. As the sons of great Khmer empire, we are so ashamed with ourselves. We now need to wake up and kick our ass to work hard and smart. No time to lazy. No more excuse.

Reclaim our position back, my Cambodian friends. We used to be great. We have the blood of our great empire. Live our true-selves. Live our lives to the fullest.

Today, we are poor in physical property, but mindset. With an open-mined and quick learning attitude, I hope in the next 15 years, Cambodia will not be one of the poorest countries anymore. If not number 1 in S.E.A, I believe we not at the bottom and middle class. We are one of richest!

PHNOM PENH, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- Hyundai Company of South Korea will build a vehicle assembling factory in Cambodia, South Korean ambassador to Cambodia said on Wednesday.

"The vehicle assembling factory will be opened in coastal Koh Kong Province," Lee Kyung Soo, South Korean ambassador here told reporters in a news conference on the state visit of South Korea president Lee Myung Bak to Cambodian on Oct. 22-23.

The press conference is organized by the club of Cambodian Journalists.

But Lee Kyung Soo did not give the details about the amount invested by Hyundai in Cambodia. Deputy Director General of Hyundai Group already paid a visit to Cambodia a few days ago, LeeKyung Soo said.

The press release from South Korean Embassy in Phnom Penh said that Camko Motor Company is building a Hyundai car assembly factory in Koh Koh province, about 370 km southwest of capital Phnom Penh. It covered land area of 165,000 square meters with two facilities for maintenance and dormitory. It can assemble 3,000 cars per year and the type of car including SUV, Van and other cars.

According to Lee Kyung Soo, South Korea's investment in Cambodia last year was worth about 1,238 million U.S. dollars, but for the first six months of this year, the investment decreased about 58 percent compared with the same period of last year because of the global financial crisis. South Korea's investment in Cambodia focuses on the rubber plantation, mines, energy, oil and gas, real estate, tourism, construction, agri-industry, Lee Kyung Soo said.

For the bilateral trade between the two countries in 2008, Cambodia imported about 309 million U.S. dollars worth of products from South Korea and Cambodia's export to South Korea about 294 million U.S. dollars. So far this year the two-way trade volume is worth about 120 million U.S. dollars. Both sides will try to foster more trade volume

Thailand is lucky country so far without war and any natural disaster . But any things could happen such as Tsunami , flood and earth quake , Bangkok could be sink under the water. So it for the best Laos , Thailand and all neighbor should help each other instead of showing off how rich and how good and better your country are and insulting the countries which are less develop and poorer. Thailand economy used to be very good in southeast Asia and had no debt during PM Thaksin . So don't laugh too loud Thailand owe a lot of money right now since Thaksin was out of office. So that is no fun and laughing matter also.

Vietnam and Cambodia accepted the change with time and the reality and improve with the world. Look at Laos today and look back in history but nothing much has been changed but the same old sad songs that are selfish , jealous , corrupted and betray . It is sad but it the truth. Singapore doesn't have any raw martial resources even has to import the drinking water from the other countries still could be developed from the poverty to the first world country in only 40 years . Laos has been 35years after the war still going no where in the countryside the school kids have to go to pee and **** in the bush or dig a hole to ****. The landlock is no longer the excuse for Lao government any more.

Take Singapore and south Korea as the model then Laos could be what ever Laos would like to be. The answer is simple but it is very difficult to do but Singapore and south Korea have done it. Need good leaders who are smart and intelligent to lead the Lao people in the right direction and no more take it easy and moving slow and lazy . A good intelligent leader , there is alway the door from the outside world where the money could be coming from to invest in the country. The foreign policy and diplomatic that is up to the leader to build the confedent for the investors .Nothing just as maricle but working hard and earn it. God did not gave Singapore and south Korea money and it was not a miracle either but they earn what they have and what they made it to happen.

Nothing is impossible as I said have a look at south Korea and Singapore only in few decades their leader turn their countries from poverty to the first world countries and educated their people from uneducated and gambler and street gang and opium addict to well educated and skill workers. Just be the leader by the people and the government by and for the people just like Singapore and south Korea . There are plenty of young and well educated and intelligent Lao people .
