I agree with the reply right down below. I think its about protecting local identity. When i was in Vang Vieng, while getting off my tuktuk at the bus station onward Vientiane, I rode with 2 Thai tourists. To my surprise, they spoke easily with the Lao driver. i then asked the Thai girls later how come they knew Lao, and they replied with "Our languages have great similarities trhus we understand each other."

I think this is an advantage to both societies. It can foster unity and regional brotherhood as well. But safeguards have to be done to protect what is distinctly Lao, from what is distinctly Thai.

Thais well never learn only making Thailand seperate like from the southern tip of thailand and Malaysia. I see this issue is going with NorthEast and North of THailand problem in the future soon. Them Siamese will never repect or trust us Laotian even tho they will hide behide in the name of Thailand. And for some Isan I believe they are now different they don't even know nothing about Laos and our people but lost there idenity. Isan is just another alienating name calling from there own people.

I think Lavender is one of thos Thais who lost every and lost there own Idenity from many generation of Thaification in Thailand. Now since Thailand is lossening up with all this Thai racist against its asian nieghbor its going to take a long generation to heal the old wounds that they left to suffer in hell. Maybe Thailand well never be the same after this since the country is full of prositute and lost idenity. oh and where are the true history and true culture of thailand?????? Seem like all are Chinese mixing culture up with all of thailand nieghbors! And about those chinese they r gonna get it one day and its gonna be bloody hell when that time comes.

Nothing is wrong with listening whatever song or music, but to sing in the class is very wrong. The teacher does perfectly his/her job in this case. It is a lao public school and he/she fellow the gov. education policies.

What's wrong to speak English in the class and what's wrong to use computer in the class? Anyway, I do know that to sing Thai song in math class. Of course, you will not get the best solution out of it. But,it doesn't mean that student can't sing Thai song in public school either. If I have kids, I'll let them attend. It's free.

oh boy,
i didn't say anything about using PC or speak ankit in lao public school, but you should do it in order of the gov. education policies. it doesn't sound good if you are working on you labtop in lao craftsmanship class for e.g. or speak ankit in lao poem class, but it fits when using PC in Science or other class and speak ankit in ankit class.

But,it doesn't mean that student can't sing Thai song in public school either.

you can sing whatever song you want in lao public school, but not in the class.
plz read my comment again. you might be too young to understand what i try to tell you or my ankit is not the best , that you don't get to my point. sorry for my limit and ability, i dropped out of school and never have a chance to learn ankit in school. my ankit is from the street and work place.
