I think they buy copyrights of the songs before they can re-produce them. Yingyong Yordbuagnam sings "Kho Gneun Mia Pai Sia Kha Hong' (asking money from a wife to pay for a room); Pee Sadert sings "Jee Hoy"...
It's all good for me as long as they pay for what they take.
Thai get bored so easily. They wants to do somethings new for the change all the time. Sometimes they even like to sing in alien language. Like this one.
I mean, you have got to be kidding me. Don't you have anysong better to sing?

Yeahhhhh, agree with Brother Kino, in today businese's world you just can't jump here and there and take somebody''copyright-trademark'' and put in your own benefit, that violated copyright law. and in the case of thai look-tung sing alot of lao old songs. i believe they must bought a copyright from the owner of the song or the record company that for sure.. so anyway, for eirther lao sing or thai sing i love both of them.
Not sure about the above song. But these are Lao songs:

(Hoy Gee Kaem Lao, originally sang by Ki Nouhuang)

(Sao Thin Keo, originally sang by Buagneun Saphouvong)
Tai Orathai singing the song only from the Master Salah, well known Thai-esarn Country Song Writer
Many of Lao songs rewrite and bought the copyright to sing in Lao. It's hard to find that Thai people singing and brought to rewrite to Thai Country song but I knew that some song such like "Koo Larhb Paksan or Lao Duang Deun"

In Lao has not many song writers yet
Nah. Tai Orathai doesn't sing only Salah's composed songs. And Salah doesn't compose all her songs. Some are Lao songs, especial Lum. Listen to Tai 'lum' then you know those Lum are Lao, at least with Lao melody. I don't think Thai has "Lum Tang Wai" (just one example).
TQ for post this one, it remind me my young years. i think this one i heard around the year of 1968-72 correct me if i m wrong. it was definitely lao original song. i was too young to remember the singer or the song writer.

But Lum is also using in Esan music before they actual sing the song they Lum first
I don't know...better not to compare anything about Lao-Thai... headache

you might be right about that, but please, provide some evident, the singer name or year and the original dish. in the late 60ties i m still remember playing sangthong sisay (he was an actor and singer),southep wongkamheng, souliphonh and a lot of the old singers. laos got a lot of very emotional, romantic and famous song writers and singer. by your above statement, i think that you first heard thai version, then laos, that why you think everything is thais'. it's discussable about the original, bcoz of the closest of both laos and thai culture, language and tradition and most of those ppl emigrated to thailand after 1975 and the legacy of their works continue to ego the globe. by saying that, it's messing up the original, if we don't take in mind when and where first recorded and that is the original.
if i'm not mistake the Lao original song was ( Ai jon la tii nong jueng luey ) not sure who sang that song , but it was pretty good song back then and now still very popoular song too , i like the song very much

just leting you know "thai esan" are pretty much lao ethnic and they brought all that they learned about music, culture, and tradition from lao. if you know about lao, thai history. so if you say a song "originally" came form thai esan it would have been originated in laos. because thai isan is just a location while the people living in that district/area are lao people.
Watches are a beautiful thing. Certainly, they tell us the time - but aren't they so much more than that? replicas watches Through their watches, a person can express so much, and in a way it could be said:replicas watches Show me your watch and I'll tell you who you are.
