Do Lao people care about Lao writer? we seem to have very small number of good writers, and most of them are unknown. That's why we have not so many good books to read, and only read thai magazines.
Lao writer receives the SEA write award
(KPL) Lao writer, Mr Khamseng Synonthong with his pen name ?Sor Sinonthong? expressed an appreciation and a satisfaction with the SEA write award on constructive literature.
A press conference, held in Vientiane Capital, on 12 October, after arriving from Bangkok to receive the award, last week.
Mr Khamseng among 10 ASEAN member countries received the awards from Thailand?s Crown Prince, at the official SEA Write Award 2009.
He was awarded for his long novel, published 1,000 copies in 2006 which reflected real Lao history, Mr Pheng?s life, a patriotic family representing Lao families who had suffered from abuse during old regime.
In Mr Khamseng reflected Mr Pheng?s life, a character in this story, who had been abused labour fiercely from his owner employers during that time. While his life had been forced to become his employer?s son but she did not admit and escaped. Mr Pheng?s family and his son had separated each other and they believed that each other died.
When Mr Pheng?s son grew up he joined the revolution movement after receiving national liberation Mr Pheng?s family member met each other again.
In2009, the SEA Write Award was given to eight writers from Brunei, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
