Dear Comrades:

I think most of you know well how fine and magnificent our (Lao) culture is. Tradition and custom are excellent and still preserved till nowadays. Let's check the calendar! From the end of Buddhist Lent (Ork Pen Sa) till the beginning of Buddhist Lent (Kao Phun Sa) is a wedding period. I hope all of you who read this topic also receive invitation from friends, relatives, etc..Maybe more than 10 invitations less than a month.

Yes, all family members working for government sectors. As you know, earning or salary is just alright to survive in this economic hard time. I would like to share this problem with you what we are going to do with this issue?

My parents have 5 wedding invitations this month, 3 from closed relatives and 2 from distance friends. My mother would contribute what she can afford at that moment, and she prefers to give more money for people who are not well off and give less for people who are better financially.

Yes, it is hard to divide a small amount of salary into many invitations, and at the same time you have to survive on whatever is left from that. My suggestion is that contribute what you can afford and don’t think too much about what other people would put in their envelopes.

only Lao people that invite at least hundred people to the wedding !!!! just kill a few cow and pig will be enough for the dinner or Party, we can make larp and soup with the sticky rice and Khao Poun,,, it is enough for all the villages, family and friends around.

GIVING IS GOOD BUT, IT SHOULD ALSO MAKE THE GIVER BE
HAPPY TOO. I HAVE SEEN AT THE PARTY, IN THE TEMPLE,
THE HANDS OUT ENVELOP COULD MAKE YOU SUFFER.
LAOTIAN HAS SOME TRADITION THAT DIFFERENT FROM
MANY COUNTRY IS THE WORD "KENG JAI" THERE'S NO ENGLISH
WORD FOR THIS. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT YOU RECEIVED 10 INVIATIONS
IN A MONTH. WITH BAD ECONOMIC AND PEOPLE ARE LOSING JOB IS
MAKING TOUGH FOR ALL OF US TO BE GENEROUS. SHALL WE ALL
UNDERSTAND EACH OTHER? LETS HAVE FUN FOR THE PARTY WITHOUT
EXPECTING IN THE RETURNING WHITE ENVELOP! OR MEE NOY HAI NOY!

My problem is....I give, I give, I give and I give.  So far, nothing in returnbiggrin.  I just can't turn anti-social and not attending any functions.

Watches are a beautiful thing. Certainly, they tell us the time - but aren't they so much more than that? replicas watches Through their watches, a person can express so much, and in a way it could be said:replicas watches Show me your watch and I'll tell you who you are.
