WORLD BANK TO RELEASE ITS LATEST REVIEW OF THE LAO AND REGIONAL ECONOMY ON Nov.4
The region’s role as the driving force behind a global rebound will be discussed
The World Bank’s latest review of Laos and the other developing economies of the East Asia and Pacific Region, the East Asia Pacific Update, will be released on Wednesday, November 4, 2009. The embargoed report will be available on the World Bank’s Online Media Briefing Center – OMBC prior to the launch.
The region’s economy has rebounded, but have we reached recovery stage? Why has the East Asia & Pacific region fared better than other developing regions? Can the region continue to grow as fast as it did pre-crisis if demand from the developed world remains weak? Take China out of the equation and how is the rest of the region really doing? These are some of the questions addressed in the report.
A briefing on the findings of the report will be held at The World Bank Vientiane Office on Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at 8:45- 10:30.
