As a laoperson who lived outside the country for more than twenties something years, and I'll tell you this, I'm proud of my birthplace and exciting at the sametime. and of course, I also realized that she''Laos'' couldn't do it without help from SEA-games organization, and rich surrounding neighbours countries, like Thailand, Vietnam, China,Japan, South-Korea, I knew some our people who lived outside feel a little embarrussment about how the PDR government ran around for help, but just don't forget, you win some you loss some, so from now on I just want to see our people inside outside the country put our differences a side for a moment and root for our lao teams. as for my self, i really don't care much what the western media said or writen about laos. as other comment said'' when you poor, admited that you're poor and need help from others.

Laos is the best country in the world, very secure, peaceful, welcome and charming. People are very hospitable, sincere, generous and open. Places are beautiful, clean and fresh. Roads are not crowded, jam, and good. Food is very special taste, delicious, and secure. Beer Lao is one of the best taste in the world and won the first grand prize medal.

SEA Games Committee approached Cambodia too for organizing this event. Google for reasons why Cambodia did not accept to host the SEA Games 2009. I think SEA Games 2009 will be good for Laos in overall, but this is not the major priority in which country is targeting for socio-development and country's image itself reflected as one of the least developed countries. Being able to host this SEA Games, Laos should not be seen as the least development country any longer. Personally I think "SEA Games" is a leisure to tie friendship among neighbors. Anyway, no turning point, all the best for the nation and wait to see success for this historical event.

Yes Brother, We as lao, Acknowledge that our Vietnamese brothers helping us thru-the hardtime. But don't forget that, if it' not because of laos, you North Vietnam wouldn't be able to take the South back Ok. Remember ho-chininh trail. I think all Vietnamese gratefull for that.
