I'm thinking of going to South East Asia next year with my wife. What's your recommendation in term of destinations? I know it's bit hard for you to say because you don't know what we like.
We've been to Bali, Puket, Bangkok, Siangmai, Vientiane and Luang Prabang. She loved Luang Prabang the best follow by others but she didn't think much of Siangmai or Vientiane and hated Bangkok. I liked them all.
Since you have already been to Vientiane, and Luang Prabang, I would recommend the east and southern part of Laos, such as, Khone waterfall, 4,000 islands, Plain of Jars, Kong Lor cave, and many waterfalls out there in the south. You can also go to Vang vieng, a backpackers town just about 2 hours by car from Vientiane capital.
Thank you for the reply. Much appreciated. Hmmm...down south of Laos looks interesting. I havent' been there before and always wanted to go there one day. I'm a Laotiane Australian married to a lovely caucasian Australian lady. Next year will be our 20 year wedding anniversary.
Congratulations to both of you! Keep the relationship strong. Try Champasak, lotw os lovely waterfalls and Vangview for great and romantic view. Choose a hotel close to the river and have a lovely dinner on the veranda.

Seem she don't like the big modern crowded city. I suggest to go to SiemRiep, Cambodia to see the 7 wonders of the world The Angkor Wat & Angkor Thom. Vietnam also quite interesting like Hanoi, Halong bay or Hoi An.
Burma is also not bad. It's quite interesting too. Beautiful places
For me I personally prefered to go mountain climbling, treking, cycling
Here is some fotoes from Phukradeung, Loei province of Thailand
PS. Being fussy tourist, you will never satisfy to anything you see. Just enjoy it ok!
