wow those are really amazing shots and i didnt know how beautiful and spacious the south looked like. it looks like their is great potential there, i also bet those areas would have been developed long ago if it weren't for all the UXO left during the war.

just letting every one know those left over bombs from the war are still affecting peoples lives till this day about half if not more of Lao is covered in UXO

some day hope to go back and help.

If you have a chance to visit Bolaven Plateau, don't forget to visit Darn Sinxay( Sinxay's Gate) and take prenty of pictures especially the two water falls which you can view from the edge of rock platform. There are two Darn Sinxays, the small one closer to Nong Luang(used to be coffee plantation when i was there as a prisoner with my mom, brothers and 48 other escapees). The Darn Sinxay Yai is the one you should visit, when you do, post lots of pictures cause it will remind me of the 12th year of my life.

There is an agency called MAG Laos that is helping support the efforts to unearth UXOs in affected areas in Laos. For example if you donate $10 you will get a free souvenir shirt or mug, they have several designs to choose from.

If  you want to help UXO victims you can donate any amount to COPE Laos. They are providing well fitted artificial limbs to bomb vicitims and also have a rehab facility.

You can help your fellow in absentia if you really want. You dont need to wait to get a chance to go back to your homeland.

it could be a good way to start 2010, dont you think so?!?!
Good luck!
