Don't you guys have Superannuation, what country are you living in? Who's going to look after you when you're old?
Superannuation is a way of saving for your retirement. By saving small amounts of money now, you can make sure you have enough to live on when you’re older.
Generally, it means that your employer must pay superannuation into a superannuation account for you. However, if you want to put extra money in to your superannuation yourself, you can. The money put in to your superannuation account gets invested by the fund on your behalf, and is yours to use when you retire.
One shouldnt wait to get "old enough" to save for retirement. Its bettter to start saving early so you get better financial security when you get really old.

i am not living in the US.. and i am not so old so buying a house is priority now and second, support the family .i am still single .but i will support my mom and brothers sisters, as for saving for retirment i put in the less important..because there are more priority than that.. so hierachy financial goad is diffrent between young, middle age and old man.

Sorry Khonthakek, I think you got your priority in a wrong order. Retirement saving should be one of the top list. The early you start, the more money you will accumulate. Have you ever heard of compound interest?

I think we are on the same age so I agree with you on that. But to put aside saving for retirement at the bottom hmm.. maybe you wnat to reconsider your hierarchy.

my bad, i thought you live in the states. i guess buying a house would be first on my list too if i were living in laos. i just turned 43 last month so i'm not that much older than you. i bought my first house when i was 25, unfortunately bought my 2nd in 07 when housing market was at its peak so now i owe more than the house is worth
my lists 1. continue maxing out thrift saving plan(gov. retirement fund similar to 401k) 2. make contribution to roth ira 3. maintain emergency fund 4. pay mortgage 5. pay off credit card debt( i usually don't carry balance unless i have to) 6. add money to my children's education fund(509 plan) 7. if i have money left over, i put them in my brokerage account. i buy few stocks at a times.

Guess who I found?
I must must admited though, that was a nice poem, and I admired that you have contributed your time by reading or writing poem to our people. Khonthakek, may I give you a suggestion?
When showing pictures on the same screen, it would be nice to put the video of your speech on the very top of any corner of the picture that you used to support your speech, so that way the audiences can get a better image of both, the speaker & the pictures he's showing to his audiences.
