Will Laos dream and wishes come true ?

as we know have heard from the news of the promise of the government for many decades since 1975 that all people would have be equal opportunity and good condition of living . The promise after the promise but so far are all broke promise. This time the government said on 2020 Laos will be of of poverty by allowing a lot of Chinese immigrant and resettle in Laos to developed and build China town and shops and casinos and also the Vietnamese to build 5 star hotel and golf course and rubber plantation in Laos . Thailand will crack down on Laotian who go to work in Thailand . In order fro Laos to get out from poverty, Laotian must have jobs and decent income not only new modern china town and 5stars hotel and golf course . So as we are Laotian citizen still don't see any plans of training the Laotian for the future jobs to fit the year 2020 which is the key for Laotian to be out of poverty.

Lao officials say they are committed to increase per capita income threefolds from the current rate to lift their country out of poverty by the year 2020. Laos Vice Premier and Foreign Minister, Somsavath Lengsavath, says by then his country will be out of the under-developing status and Lao people across the nation will enjoy peace, prosperity, and social stability.

Laos expects its 2005-2006 socio-economic development will result in an average growth rate of 7.5%, which will translate into a per capita income of $500. And if the growth rate is sustained, it expects per capita income will increase to $800 by 2010, and $1,500 by 2020.

Laos is currently one of the poorest of the 177 countries of the world.

It's OK to keep your dreams alive but for now, let's think of a short-term solution for malnutrition please. More than half of populations are still farmers toiling in their rice paddies. Does it really make you wonder why there are so many elders in Laos? Of course, it doesn't take a brain of a rocket scientist to comprehend a premature aging process due to a prolonged exposure to the heat during summers and to the rains during its seasons and human body can only take so much before it starts prematurely deforming. As a result, most Laotians in their 50s look as they are already in their late 70s losing their teeth long before they even reach their 60-bithday.

For a dream to come true you need to work hard for it. Nobody will make  your dream come true for you... others will only facilitate.

Dream while you are sleeping and work hard and persevere during your wake hours.

Our dream is to be out of poverty level but I don't think we can reach our taget because the nature is not in our side : three provinces ravaged by Ketsana storm, let people without shelter and food . Billions of kip spent to help those people, The Mekong river is drying down, no water for dry season crops so we have to spend another billions to get water from the river.
Other things : we have to change for more transparency about money. the outcome of the amount of money earned from the sale of seagame lottery is unknown for the public, I know well that people who bought the SG lottery wanted to help but they didn't know the amount money gathered and how it was spent. if this kind of thing continue we wouldn't go any where and continue to turn around and PU KINH KINH POR HARK PUYARK YARK POR TAI will happen for ever.

Dream on.... Lao .... to get out of poverty by 2020....  I'd say it will not happen in my life time.  As long as there 's a bunch of High ranking corruption in the driver seat.  Also, look at how many percentage of $$$ they spent on education in Lao.  I just don't get it.
