They at it again. Last year at about the same time, they had this too - and I was scheduled to fly to BKK before proceeding to Yangon. It was scary as a tourist coz you're not sure if your flights will be affected. In fact, my flight had been cancelled then just 30 minutes into the advisory, they pushed through with the flight.

There's always an element of uncertainty - and when you've already set your "life" for such trip (official time off work, connecting flights, and all), it's really such a pain. I went to my hotel and my taxi just avoided the streets where these demonstrators were.

I'm not here to judge who's the bad guy here - the govt. or the demonstrators - it is after all an internal affair. However, it really affects movement and plans of tourists. I hope they resolve their problems soon.

i want the government of arphisit must make a decision and let's follow the protesters' demand, otherwise thailand won't be peaceful country and that s will affect the country.  i think the red shirt love peace but it won't be long if the government force them!!! however i hope those poor people who come from everywhere in thailand are keeping peaceful fighting for judgment and democracy .

The red shirt is hired by Thaksin to fight for his benefit.  The democracy is just an excuse.  The real thing is about Thaksin's fortune.

That was not hiring or barberries that were the money for traveling and food for the poor red shirt protesters who could not afford to travel to Bangkok . They need money for traveling and camping out  in Bangkok. The poor don't have cars and could not afford to stay in the hotel so that were the money for food and traveling so the could go and let their voice to be heard in Bangkok.

Aha !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This Laotian guy is too innocent,  Half of these red shirts does not know much about democracy or what ther are urging for.  Thaksin's people just pursued them to join the protest for some money.

Poor guys............

What you were saying is: Only Khon Klongthep know the word '' Democracy'' ?? and the poor from the Northeast don't know abit of Democracy ?

This kind of strategy seems so familiar, as I can remember that's how the communist wins hearts and minds of Lao people by going through the poor people,
because of they have low education, desperate, and they're vulnerable enough to control and to be bought! Plus there are more of poor than of the rich.

That is a common sense that the poor and low educated people who need help specially with low cost health care and welfare relief fund (emergency money  for someone who are really needed) that former prime minister Thaksin created the way to win the heart and mind of the poor people and who could deny when they were sick , need the eyes , heart surgery, giving birth...etc that every body could afford . They don't need college degree to know whom they would vote for and want to be their leaders or representatives . Of course they don't know much about politic but they know good and evil , right and wrong and who were keeping their promises to help the poor people . Also there are no amount of money to hire them to go and sacrifice and die unless of what they believe . As we knew that last years there were some shooting the red shirt protesters and now the red shirt protesters are still protesting even they know that they might be killed and injury by the military and they are still willing to sacrify for the good cause that is democracy.

You must be talking about the promise of putting more power gain for Tuksin so that his bank account gets healthier health reform instead of the poor Esarn people, that's how empty of the promise Tuksin can guarantee Esarn for SURE!!!biggrin
