Laos is the most bombed country in history as a result of U.S. bombings from 1964-1973, leaving close to half of the country contaminated with vast quantities of unexploded ordnances, including 45-75 million cluster bombs that litter forests, rice fields, villages, school grounds, roads, and other populated areas.
Over 34,000 people have been killed or injured since the bombing ceased, most of whom are children. And now, nearly 40 years after the last bombs were dropped, over 300 new casualties occur each year.
To stop the continued harm and suffering of innocent lives, we can do something.
Tell the U.S. government to increase funding for cluster bomb removal in Laos and assist victims and affected families.
I'm pretty sure the people in U.S are doing that just follow Angelina Jolie with her foundation that try to remove the mine fields throughout SE asia especially in Laos, Vietname, and Camobdia. Or this maybe not enough for the cost of war.
If the lao communist government wants $$ for reparation then why not just go straight to the UN and file a claim against the US, if there is one, instead of going thru this difficult route of getting signature thru online petition. I bet someone or some group must be smelling blood $$ going to the country if this project gets pushed thru. My 2 kips

get over it!. stop crying! Laos always need and want other to pity and help, but Laos didn't try hard enough to help itself first. I know it's a fact that our country is the most bombed country in "history" do you know why they bombed our country? if Souphanouvong didn't let our land for Vietnam to use for ho chi minh trail do you think American would bomb our country? why don't we blame on our people that let Vietnam to use our land for transport and exchange weapons and food supplies. quotation by Buddha: Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment. focus on our present time on what we need. the past is gone, what we can we do with it. it's only thing we can do is to learn that is the best lesson to learn. don't let it happen a gain. if we keep saying over and over and over about it and never act or do something how can "Laos" stand on its own? future there's something that we don't know about and i'm sure every Lao wants Laos to develop and progress like other country. To guarantee that if we can do our best today, for instance have more jobs, agriculture, more school, hospital, build new roads these will help our Lao people and rural people get out of the poverty.
Many foreigners they known this issue in Laos then they thought, they planned to help but so sad for whom were born in this land there were nothing for just bla bla...............
The tiny country of Laos was never officially at war with the United States, but it has suffered terribly nonetheless.
It is among the most bombed countries in the world after the US dropped tonnes of bombs during its secret war in the 1960s and 70s.
Josh Rsuhing finds out how these bombs are still exploding and joins efforts to clear the huge amounts of unexploded ordnance.

people in laos were innocent. The u.s. pilots dropped bombs on them for no reason. Just to unload and test it they didnt care what they hit. They dropped more bombs there then they did in the germany war and japan. It wasn't even a war with the laos they were not fighting back. Just farmers and innocent poeple. you are must be blind

They bomb Laos because Laos Issara joint Vietnam. That is the consequences so forget it. I am tired of you whining and crying stupid.
the U.S. provided on average $2.7M per year for UXO clearance in Laos; the U.S. spent $2M per day for nine years bombing Laos. When calculated in today’s dollars, the U.S. spent more in three days bombing Laos ($51M) than it has spent for clean up in the last 15 years ($40M).Nearly 40 years on, only a fraction of these munitions have been destroyed
