Just wondering...Are there any apartments build in Laos for rentals purposes?
Will there be any needs for that type of hospitality?
What is the demographic percentage for young Laotians?

If there is an apartment for rent, will Laotians people rent them?
Of course it also depend on jobs and growth of VT as a largest city.
What do you forsee the growth of VT within the next 5-10 years?

Thanks and be professional.

most of lao people, even poor, own their house.... for poor people, the house is very simple, basic and uncomfortable, but it's their house, they don't rent.

and right, lao people prefer living with familly/parents in a big familly hose rather than live alone in a small appartment they rent.

So the business for appartment for rent exist, but it's very small.

Maybe there is such business for adressing foreigners living in Laos for a few months or years.

Yes, most of you are right that Lao people prefer living with their parents and family. However, there are some youngster rent the rooms particularly those who come from provinces and studying in Vientiane, but that is only a small amount and cheap prices like 300.000 to 500.000 Kip per month. Therefore, we have seen many units for rent near schools and colleges, about several years ago local newspaper issued the concern about RENT rather than RICE because some Vientiane residents who had rice file near the roadside stoped growing the rice and built the rent units in stead.

Yes there are!!!!!!!!!!! chinese and vietnamese are building it, because Lao don't have $$..and quite sure that, the apartment will grow more more in capital VTE in the next  10 years due to the increase of Vte population and people from outside.  now many students who come from another province rent the house in Vientiane, the House is simple with 1 or 2 bed room, 1 bath room and kitchen. Normally the students share the house.

As for foreigner who stay in Laos for work, they normally rent the villa from rich people in Laos which will be paid monthly to the owner 500-600$ .

The demand of people from outside vietiane will be increasing, I think the investors see the chance and will invest about that.. Vietiane need to make up the city.

Thanks for the insight. I have Americans investors who are looking to invest in Asia, but wanted to jump on the new untapped market. The best possible location would be VTE, plus it's centrally located in SE Asia. We expect that the population will double within 10 years with a lot of foreigner's interest such as Chinese, Thais also Laotian American living abroad.

never forget foreigner cannot own the land in laos, you can only own the building, but not the land.... not the best situation for investment.

anyway, there are certainly a few opportunities of investment... just have to choose carefully

Bad idea, not another nude bar for foreigners to see.
