Hi everybody

This is the absolute first time I visit this website, so I hope I'm not out of place with this post.

My girlfriend and I are travelling from Thailand into Laos soon, and we would like to find some volunteer work somewhere. We have been told that posting in this forum might help us find something or give us some ideas. We would like to find something out of Vientiane and Luang Prabang as we have been told that the volunteering options there has been overrun by mass tourism.

Geographically the locations isn't important. Whats important to us is the people who works there and the organization itself. It could be English teaching... or orphanage... or something totally different.

We have been told so many fantastic things about Laos.. the people, the culture, the nature.. so we are really looking forward to visiting.

Any help or hints will be greatly appreciated..

Why not try the World Food Program, Big Brother Mouse, COPE, WOrld Vision, Red Cross, and other locally-based international Agencies. There are a lot you can find in Laos. Mostly the offices are found in Vientianne. Good luck!

you can teach english for the kid
you can join the UXO team as volunteering and start to training
you can join the care org..to help the people in the rural area

Lao people, first we have to help ourself and the country out of poverty .if you have money, just help your parent cousin and friend, thats all..
