The Death of a Family Spiritual Leader -tinko
Permalink

There are events in some lao families that require the service of a spiritual leader. confuse

Someone who performs the service and leads the ceremony, events which span from a birth of a child to a death of a spouse.

Usually a family spiritual person, an elder or older uncle, will preside over a wedding as well as over a funeral, etc., with the help of monks.

My family has a few spiritual leaders.

However, they are of the same generation, age wise. phonecall.gif

When this generation dies there will be no one to replace them.

I can not see a tradition, a ceremony without a spiritual leader.

I am saddened at this thought...no.gif

computer monitor in front of me is starting to get blurred now as I type, damn tears.

We do live in a world that's changing and moving so fast, and it wouldn't hurt us all if we sometimes sit back and ponder on non-material things. Spiritual leaders are always essential because they help us guide our motives and in the long run, keep our souls.
