I think many confuse land mines with other left over explosives from the war. Other explosives are known as ERW (explosive remnants of war) to differentiate them from land mines.
In 2006 of the hundred killed by left over explosives, only one was due to a land mine.
I've heard of mine fields in Xieng Kouan province left over from the conventional battles fought there (plain of jars), but other wise they are of much more recent planting in the area of Phou Bia and the Xaysombone zone.
I couldn't play soccer at the soccer field in Gnomalate few years ago, because some part of the field was full of hole.. they said... the landmines were just removed..
Hollywood stars may be just vacuous drivel, but I think their stardom would have meant more in such projects that help put the spotlight on Laos and other countries/people that deserve the attention of the world.
he/she wouldn't have been there for over 4 months if there weren't such a high demand for those products. maybe u need to worry about your people's drug habits over there.
Laoser are you Thai trying to be Lao in Lao websites. I don't mind Vietnam helping out Laos, but want Laos to be independence not part of Vietnam in the future.
lao people are ungrateful. we gave them jobs and in the end, they turned their back on us and tried to kill us, it is time for us to close the border. no wonder, lao and mexican are alike in many ways!
Thailand economies with no Lao worker will collapse. About 40,000 Lao are working in Thailand. We love Thailand. Thank you for your supported and cooperation. Hehehaha
