Phongsavanh kicks off pilot training programme

(KPL) Phongsavanh Airlines signed here last Thursday with the Bangkok Aviation Centre Company of Thailand on a pilot training cooperation in preparation for its commercial airline service. According to the agreement, eight Lao pilots will be trained in Thailand for one year and in the United States for six months. The pilots are expected to begin flying for the Phongsavanh Airlines in 2012.

The company has two airplanes at the moment and both of them were bought from the Lao Capricorn Air Company in January this year. The company also orders three jet planes from Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Corporation of Russia.

Pilots will be selected in October and they will be leaving for training course in Thailand in November, said Phongsavanh Company Board of Executive Committee Chairwoman, Ms. Savanphone Phongsavanh.

The signatories to the agreement were Chairman of Phongsavanh Airlines Public Company Board of Directors, Mr. Ai Souliyaseng, and Director General of the Department of Civil Aviation of Thailand, Mr Wutthichai Singhamani, representing the Bangkok Aviation Centre Company of Thailand. The event was witnessed by relevant officials of both sides. (KPL)

Russian airplane?Oh!! NOOOO!!! i am not going to fly with Phongsavanh airline!! i love my life! because the Russian air planes doesn't pass the world's aviation safety test...
The Canadian airline selling used airplane but very good quality some of them only five years old
very cheap some only $ 50 000 - 5 000000 Dallas because the company is under bankruptcy!  they selling very cheap and free pilots training
WHY don't they buy from CANADA? They have the world record aviation safety test!
Russian airline has two accidents in one month!!.
Read this!!
Reports: Brake failure may have led to crash
The brakes on a Russian plane may have failed as the plane careened into garages in a fiery crash that killed at least 122 people in Russia's second major commercial airline disaster in two months, news agencies reported Sunday.

its different manufacturer, don't stereotype against the Russia. From the news i watched Sukhoi is the NEW face of Russian Aviation, so the Russian Govt. is giving it massive support. And most of the parts are from different manufacturers in the EU. Even the French is buying from Sukhoi so i think it is safe.

Different perception here but i wont fly with a second hand airplane from an airline. Obviously the airline will say it's still in a gd quality, how else will they sell the plane.

good luck with the training. confuse

flying a plane can be trained
i hope every pilot has the skill to cop with mechanical failures and other emergency situations while in mid air.

deep inhale and exhale i think is the proper breathing technique to overcome stress, somthing that can be
implemented by pilots dealing with stressful situations like before the plane crashes into
the mekong river or phou bia, the highest mountain in laos.confuse

Lao pilots are very good skill..I never heard the Lao plane crashed and killed the ppls.. 2 years ago, the small aircraft of Lao airline crashed on the rice paddy which there were no any one died report. I still believe in lao pilot and their skill, but the plane, I am not very sure..the company should buy the plane from france+germany, i heard it's good.
