Vietnam GDP exceeded US $100 billion for the first time

Vietnam’s GDP (gross domestic product) is likely to reach US$ 104.6 billion in 2010, up by US$ 13 billion from 2009, according to recent estimates from the General Department of Statistics.


Ho Chi Minh City has made a great recovery after the 2009 economy ciris.

The agency also said that the 2010 GDP growth rate stood at 6.78 per cent, up by 0.3 per cent compared to the target set by the National Assembly.

Reports unveiled that total investment from the State Budget was VND 140,000 billion already-disbursed FDI in 2010 was US$ 11 billion, up by 11 per cent against 2009.

FDI has, in fact, played an important part in the country’s socio-economic development as FDI businesses have contributed US$ 3.1 billion to the State Budget and created 1.9 million jobs for local labours, the reports underlined.

Furthermore, a major proportion of FDI in 2010 was poured into the Government-prioritised areas, namely processing and manufacturing.

Thank to U.S Vietnam biggest investors. Saigon city is pretty nice though. Laos wil reach $10 billion. It'll take time.

$100 billion, but you also has 90 million mouth to feed. Viet need one child policy like China to control their overpopulation. Laos only 6.8 million.

Although Vietnam has 90 million mouths , GDP per capita of Vietnam in 2010 is still US$1155 while Laos and Cambodia with less mouths but still not reach US$1000

How funny are Laotians !

There's only 6 millions Laos , 1 millions of them are Vietnamese , 1 millions are Chinese and another millions are Thai LOL . I guess in the next couple years Laos will disappear from the World map.

What u said makes me feel that Laos is an incompetant country which can't even prevent illegal foreigners . And like people want to live in Laos so much because they love poverty and that they leave their richer home countries to come live an Asian poorest country Laos . What a rediculous and silly idea ! Please look at your country status before you open your mouth.

IF you are Laotian who living in Laos you know what is going on in Laos right now!, if you walking in to TALAD XAO Market you will see every two of ten people in there are Vietnamese who living in Lao illegally! you have to open your eyes to look at your country if you are not stu!!!p!!

Laos will soon surpass Vietnam in per capita income. Thai and Viet is richer, but also poorer then Laos. Most of Thai, Viet population are living in poverty in higher percent then Lao citizens. Because Laos only 7 million.

So what? At least they love our country and they don't do something wrong. Our country accept evey race from all over the world that not only Chinese. May be you don't understand about the democracy. Mind your own bussiness, don't you know laos has so many viets!! don't lie

Laos have some Viet, Hmong, Chinese, European, India, Cambodia. Laos is a melting pot society.
