Is True China is the best because since 1975 China try to help every things they can but Lao Government rejcted because they are listen to veitnam, even now veitnam trying to control every things on Lao Governments. Since then if Lao Government accepted the offer Lao be much better than this!!
Taxi now New Lao leader except China, Thailand offer and investment. That's why Laos is the second fastest growing economy in SE Asia behind China with 7.8% a year.
China is building a $7 billion railway to Laos and Thailand. I don't think Vietnam like that.

Why your guy are bitching that Vietnam and other countries are richer and more modern than your country and your guy do nothing about it but complaining. Look at Singapore and south Korea and upper Austria after the war , it take them only a few decades , they transformed their countries from poverty to the first world countries. So do something about it .

Your comment is so ridiculous. After the war, VN economy sank from top to the bottom line of poverty, maybe poorer than Laos, Cambodia. The fact is that the war torned everything we have. VN was not in better shape than Laos, GDP is about same as Laos and you must know that VN is also a poor country so how can we help?. For 30 years, VN did helped Laos a lot (from training officials,students, support Laos army, open businesses, we even build Sea game stadium for Laos...) and just now who is the top investor in Laos? You must know that we help with what we can not like China whose idea is trying to conquer every country around it

Just watched a documentary ("Tropic of Cancer", BBC) where a part of the 6 month journey visited the northern Lao territory, just straddling Chinese territory. True enough, they are buildinga huge huge "gambling and entertainment den" - complete with town markets and halls, funded by the chinese. They even have 2-3 helicopters and all the amenities of a 1st world country. The Chinese are pouring money in Laos, I do hope the Laos people will also benefit from such enteepreneurship.
