Some authorities love to be righteous in front of a group of journalists. It would be a shame if nothing tangible is done to protect the environment in terms of illegal logging and overt use of non-renewable resources.

It is good to hear that he is trying to do something about it.  Action is key.  If they keep cutting down trees, there will be massive flooding because trees and plants absorb a lot of rainfall.  In addition, it will stop soil erosion.  Get these people on jobs like Eco-Tourism.

Laos PDR laws are protecting the Vietnamese, look a clear sample from a rape and murder case of a young 14 years old Lao girl by 22 Vietnamese guys. Laos PDR Govt. were set freed for those Vietnamese without convicted to that crime. Laos judge ordered those Vietnamese guys pay money to the victim's family and sent them back to Vietnam that's all.

If it's your land you won't go to jail because you plant trees and cut down trees... you can also sale your land if it's your land. Ring 540 53777 if you are interested to buy a piece of land around 100 metre length.

They took the action since the born of Laos PDR in 75's, Pm Kaysone Phomvihanh used announced to crackdown on illegal logging and protect the forest not allowing no one come in and cut down the woods. There was so many times Laos border army clashed with illegal Vietnamese army whom entered to Laos soil for illegal logging during Kaysone P still alive.  After Kaysone Phomvihanh pass away, there's non of any Laos pm to continue or follow his steps to protect the forest but, turned green light for Vietnamese for illegal logging.

How many poor pm who's salary was under $500/month became millionaires ( u.s. dollar ) after the pass away of Kaysone Phomvihanh?

Pm Thongsing will be a next Laos pm became millionaire ( u.s. dollar ).

You are such a bad actor, Mr prime munister !

Not only that, you are such a bad singer...

Crying foul for what, pretend to the world that you are a good guy trying to solve the problems ? look at yourself in the mirror or look inside your pocket instead. Where did you get all those american dollars from.

Go swear in front of the statute of The mighty king Fa Ngum that you really mean business and let heaven be your witness.

It's truly a bad joke.
