I have several Lao friends and in more than one occasion, I've heard a couple of them say that many Thai women are prostitutes. I realize that Laos has been experiencing a boost in tourism and the country is considered more religion-oriented than Thailand.
Is that why some Lao look down on Thai? Or does it have to do with something else?

Samakomlao please delete this topic . Lao and Thai came from the same ancestor and we have too many things similar such culture , language , religion etc,,, who the hell are trying to provoke the fight and damage the relationship between Thai and Lao . They tried to do it before and now they do it again and they will do it again tomorrow. Of course they were some conflict in the past between Siam and Lane Xang . So Lane Xang also had war with Burma , China and also Vietnam . So we could not hate all of our neighbouring countries. The same with Germany and Japan in world war ll that was the past. There are some low class and uneducated people who like to insult Laos and Lao people here . Who ever you are , you are better stop what you are trying to do here, scum bag.

I think what he means is, If u god dam laos people continue to boost tourism, it will be like Thailand. Full of AIDS AND will be added another sex tourism country. Having those type of people take over your country with money for sex and spread diseases and aids all over laos. Is it worth it, to boost tourism?
Look at thailand girls, say girls suppose to be conservated, BS LIES BUNCH OF WHORES.
I know the head master of the Tuk Tuk and his dam side kicks. Those bastard, knows where all the hot spot are at. One night my Tuk Tuk drivers was park at hotel, he tells me, that Taxi van fulls of girls is for the dam sex tourism people in the hotel. Don't tell me it not going down that road. Cuz I experience Laos what is hidden to some, have not yet explode to the world yet. When they can find it, Say bye bye to your country. what you once known it.
Thats why I don't like going to Laos, I just wanna punch all those Russian,France,UK, and Australia, in the FACE. It's just piss me off, I just want to beat up and say welcome to laos bitach. Go do that ****s in your country.
I don't think it funny or right, taking picture of poor kids, or when u try to talk to them, they think they too good to talk back. That's right, I blend in, so when I tell them I'm from the U.S. they know whats up. Either they talk to me or I talk **** to them.

I dont' think u been to laos. Have u seen the girls in Laos mostly light skin and beautiful compare to the girls I seen in Thailand.
Example the word ICE: Thai people say KENG...Laos say GONG..............Same thing to me, but Thai people can't understand, but laos people can understand.
Thai people language, its to sweet and full of lies behind it. Why many can fall in love with a Thai girl, even if she ugly than ****, cuz her voice is so sweet. "Personal experience."
I don't see who more superior between Thai and Laos only ignorances of some people.
why do lao think they are better than everyone else? in realtiy, lao is the lowest of all!
At least we're higher than you black-ass boy.
We, as Lao have never thought we're better than anybody else like you thais people love to claimed, from Politicians on down to Homeless man. Thailand this and Thailand that, Nobody ever have this Nobody ever have that but Thailand, and at the End, Thailand couldn't even built one Car, if you can, Just name one Car or Motorbike, Please give me just name... LET' ME TELL SOME YOU THAI MONKEYS PEOPLE, YOUR COUNTRY KNOWN AS A ASSEMBLY COUNTRY, NOT PRODUCE COUNTRY, NOT EVEN AN INVENTION EITHER. BUT A COPIES COUNTRY, REMENBER THAILAND STILL ON THE BLACK LIST IN VIOLATED THE COPY LAW.
AND YES, Laos still way behind Thailand in the development I acknowledged that, But we held our moral standards higher than some of you Thai people. this is very important for lao and Laos country... and atleast we have never fake our smile like some of luke-eka-ree like you....... So next time you want to called us low! Please look at your self first or clean your own F.u.c.ki.n.g. backyard Ok SOB...............

Ice Lao people say kaunh(ກ້ອນ)! not gong(ກອງໃຫຽ່) like the big gong that's in the temple Ok!
This individual is not a Thai as he/she claimed to be. This individual is actually Miao Chao Fah Terrorists trying to undermine the Lao-Thai friendly relations. The close co-operation between the Lao and Thai governments has put and end to the Hmong terror activities in Laos and crushed the Hmong's dream of creating an independent Hmong country within the Lao PDR.

Thailand well known as HOOKERLAND (kalee Land) Bangkok well known as BANKC*OCKs
why do you lao drag other countries in? cant lao do anything on it own?
Yes we could, But not as big as our surrounding neighbors. for instant, We sold our electricity to most of the Northeast Thailand (Esarn region) and exported our very expensive woods to Thailand in the past 40-50 years and still going on today. and most of our very good woods used built their houses, funitures, and other household thing around Thailand, and Thailand sent us Rice, Gas, and others household thing. if you don't believe me please do some research. and ofcourse, we imported a lots of our household thing from around our regions not just Thailand... But we exchange from our commodities not for free..... put that in your head.

Thais have dirty mouth and attitude towards khon Lao for no apparent reason. Also many movies drama and mainstream Thais look down on Lao people as second class and uneducated.
I'm just being straight forward with you since you seem so confused.
And who build electric dam for Laos? can Lao build its own?
Laos could of let China into Laos and help build it for us instead of Thailand. But that would worried many Thais government and U.S for the sake of China expansion into ASEAN.
It's good that Thailand is helping Laos. But being a two face politically within Thailand Government is untrustworthy. Thailand usage of helping its neighbors build such project usually bring Thai Government opporturnty to use the helping hands as a threat against a country they procieved with.
Just like Cambodia and Thailand issue. We can see how Thailand uses its "Dependency" stragtegy on a country that they procieved to help.

Do you really think that Chinese helping Laos because Chinese love Laotian ?
Or the Chinese would like to indirectly dominate Laos like Tibet and other Chinese Muslim province in China ? I trust India more than China. What ever china help Laos and it is not a free lunch just like the stadium which Lao government had to allow hundred of thousand Chinese to immigrant and settle in Laos. Soon even the Internet and most of every things will be running by the Chinese in Laos . HOW DO THE CHINESE REALLY FEEL ABOUT THE LAOTIAN ? DO THE CHINESE REALLY LOVE LAOTIAN . HELPING LAOS BECAUSE OF THEIR INTERESTE AND PROFIT AND BENEFIT FOR THE CHINESE. CHINESE ARE VERY INTELLIGENT WHEN IT COMES TO BUSINESS AND MONEY.

First of all you don't called me low and uneducated people and don't have a hi-school diploma, I'm a U.S. citizen and worked for DynoNobel base in Norway since I came out from School 20 years ago. talk about my education level you still got more than 15 year to catch me son. maybe higher than the rest of your family tree. please don't be arrogance, you just 16 years old hi-school kid who don't know your own future yet, you might end up with your local gang, or end up work for factory with minimum wage( Sorry no often for factory workers here). As for the Nam Ngum Dam, yes, you absolutely right about it. But doesn't mean Laos owe anything to these two countries, (Japan and U.S.A.) because both country tried to influent Laos by spent their money and technologies to built Nam Ngum Dam for Laos and Laos own it 100%, not like other new generation Dams like Nam Thuen investors owns almost 75% for the next 25-30 something years... So if you're Lao, Please try not to discredit the ability of lao and laos.... you only have 10 grade education.

Also don't call me son because you are not my father. About the Nam Ngum dam , it does really not matter that Laos owe 100% without the American 's money and the Japanese help the royal government that dam would never be built.
