I know corruption is one of the reason, but not all.
what else that make the poor become poorer, and the rich become richer.
Please suggest.
Here is the story:
All Lao refugees when they arrived at third countries like (USA, France, Canada, Australia and Germany) many of them did not have even one dollar. Look today everyone have home, money in the bank and their children became doctors, lawyers and have a place in the society in the country they live.
The question you want to ask me maybe "why"
Why all these refugees can have a good life in overseas?
The answer is the government, the government of those countries look after them and provide them wit the opportunity to achieve what they want in life.
How they do it? Here's how:
1. Provide housing
2. For those who did not know their langague, they have class for them to attend
3. Find you a job
4. Training about any job you like
5. Children have to go to school
6. And support in all areas (free)
How about in Laos?
Laos government is so selfish, they only look after themself. Look at young Lao people today. No job. No training. School have to pay to get in. Young people turn to drug and prostitution.
Every day, there is news about Thai polices arrest Lao girls sell sex in Udon or Khone Khen. These Lao girls are Lao government daughters, sisters or nieces. Why they do not help them.
The money they corrupt is no good to leave in the bank or buy big car. Use that money to build factories, build schools, build careers for young Lao so they will support you to remain in power.
Here is the probems of Lao Government:
1. Ignorance
2. Uneducated
3. Barbarian
4, Uncivilize
5. They o not know how to protect their own race (people)
6. Selfish
7. Worship money before the country
8. Sell everthing to foreigner
9. Everything for Lao people have to pay, very soon all the rich foreigners will run Laos and real Lao people will only become their servance.

In my country (France), we have much less differences between rich and poor (even if those difference are growing those last years). Why? because government is strong and do a lot to reduce social inequalities.... but this cost lot of money.... we have much much more taxes than in Laos...
If fact, the economic policy of my country is more communist than Laos!!!!

You could give a million dollar to the poor person who work for a living 8 to 5 and depend on a check after pay a check and a year later he will be broke and poor again. You could take all the monies from Bill Gates and few months later he will have his billions again. Brain and Mind , science and business.
Maybe God doesn't bless Laos. Laotian take it easy all the time and doing every things very slow .Also Laotian never have a well educated and intelligent leader.
Wrong system just like Cuba and North Korea for many decades with the least development and very slow progress unlike south Korea and Singapore which have a smart leader and good government who could transform their people from uneducated people to skill workers and from poverty to the most modern country .
Low educated leader and not intelligent government who don't know what they are doing and would never listen to the Lao people and always take the advises from the Vietnamese , Chinese and Thai.

The uneducated , poor people who have no brain, no matter much monies were given to them , they will blow them away and become broke again .In 1975 the Lao government took all of their monies and exchange the current that made the rich people were poor and had to start all over again just like normal people , and then few years later after fled Laos the people used to be rich and then they became rich again because the government could take their monies , their houses and any thing they owned but the government could never take away their education and their intelligent. The same with the American billionaire who donate his billions to the charity and few years later , he became a richer and richer than before. This is only for self made billionaire not rich by corruption or stolen the country and people's money. The poor stupid people always are going to be poor no matter where they are living. The rich and intelligent people are always going to be rich no matter what.

What you wrote is absolutely unrealistic. Rich people who have high education, working hard to earn money and get rich that real rich.
But uneducated and use power to get rich that criminal and corruption. These people do not know the value of money and their money will destroy themself eventually.
Remember when we were born no one bring anything, we are all equal no rich no poor. When we grew up we are different some rich, some poor. You know why?
This is what I'm talking about is opportunity.
People born in rich family have more opportunity to have good education and have
a good life in contrash with people who born in poor family, they are likely have no
chance to go to school and become poor.
That's why we need good government to give opportunity to the poor and I'm sure
they have good brain too. Not like you said rich have brain and poor no brain.
Stop insult the poor, give them opportunity to learn one day they too can be as rich
Hard working and working will not go no where if working smart using the brain and knowledge and skill then will be successful . Brain power is much powerful than muscle power.
I would like to suggest some ideas that as you can see that you don't blame poor poeple who uneducation and I consider to blaming the govt. of Lao rule the country over 40 years. it is govt. stupid!!! look at the school in rule area, it is very bad system. for example, in my village in Champassak district. that school was builded since 1965 and I was attendent that school until now I went back home last year and the school was damage very bad and has no roof on it. I feel so bad that the students don't have text book to learn and they have one text book to cheer for the whole classroom. it is because the govt. does't look after their poor people. if they give a right minds and tool to educate themselve and has equal opportunities like rich people do. I don't think poor people can not refuse it.

The solution is simple .When Laos never real is an independent country since many hundred of years . Burma , china , Vietnam , Siam and the France conquered Laos most of the time. Today Vietnam is inderectly conquering Laos and soon it will change to China . So who want the Lao people to be well educated and financial independent that will make the Vietnamese and Chinese very difficult to conquer. So it is better off to keep Laotian to be low educated and poor that would be easy to conquer. So poor , uneducated and stupid and their jobs to be farmers, none skill workers and maid.
I know corruption is one of the reason, but not all.

There are many cases where rich become poor and poor become rich, why not emphasize on these issues perhap we can learn a lession or two.

I totally with you here 100% even here in the US the system is far more communist than Lao and the world is still looking up to America regard of how much defecit we are in. so its about time for people to stop bad mouth any form of goverments and start taking responsibilities for them self toward a better life. you owe it to your self no one else is responsible for you failure if that is the case.

I totally with you here 100% even here in the US the system is far more communist than Lao and the world is still looking up to America regard of how much defecit we are in. so its about time for people to stop bad mouth any form of goverments and start taking responsibilities for them self toward a better life. you owe it to your self no one else is responsible for you failer if that is the case.
Even in the US the gap between rich and poor is still too great. Scandinevian countries, some European countries and Australia are much much better.
Poor people are jealousy and lazy and stupid. So they blame why they were born poor and ...etc. so who to blame any way since there are no god . So the poor people are lazy , uneducated and stupid. So they just lie down and dream for their fantasy to happen. Instead of getting their ass study hard and get well educated and working smart and pursuit their dream and making happen.
I think when Laos is prosper enough people will think seriously. Now their is no strong encouragement or desire to think like that since many wants to help build Laos. But Laos don't have such law or freedom like the West which makes many dreams undesirable. The blame should be on the old Lao leader's within the Government for not looking at the big picture for its own people and Lao around the world.
The answer is easy the Lao leader id not well educated and not intelligent and always take the advise from the Vietnamese and could make any decision without consulting with the Vietnamese.
