No but it does mention the Lao vs Viet era of the 60's-70's. It does mention the leaving and returning of the Lao Nok.
Thanks for reading
Sounds like selective prophecies if you ask me. It is pretty easy to make prophecies about your surrounding neighbors isn't it? Its not like Vietnam or Thailand would just magically disappear Unless they were bombed to death by America like Laos was.
Secondly, it wasn't Laos vs Vietnam. It was the CIA and Hmong against the Vietnamese if you really want to be technical. Since you always say oh the Pathet Lao were 'just Vietnamese'. Well lets be fair it was CIA Hmong vs Vietnamese in Laos. Right? Should stick to facts no?
Who would have anything against the Lao prophecies? They say Laos will prosper as well as Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar. The landscape of Southeast Asia will look different but things in general will be better. All good things. Only a retard that wants Laos to be stagnant and continue to be a doormat of Vietnam would say anything bad about it. Being a crybaby doesn't stop the prophecies from being right time after time since the Chao Anou era.
The officials in Vieng were the ones sharing a version the prophecies amongst themselves just 3 years ago. If you don't like it, say something to them.
Do most of the Lao PDR leaders not attend and participate in Buddhist ceremonies? Enough said.
I just think its a bit rediculous, you don't even need an education to see prophecies and religion are just made up human ideals to control people. Christianity has a ton of prophecies as well.all religions or groups do. Its kind of counterproductive to believe in prophecies and wanting a nation to advance in the 21st century.
Enough said? You complain about those very officials on a daily basis... Looks like religion or prophecies hasn't don't any good or bad for them or am I missing something?
You look down on Lao/Asian beliefs and call everyone else a white wannabe?
I think the white mans Christianity is the most irrational and useless right next to Islam. I don't have a problem with Buddhism at all, it was just that your statement was "Lao leaders still do this that bla bla" and my response was religion hasn't done anything positive or negative to them has it?
That's because a lot of them don't practice it's teachings. Someone can say they're a mechanic when they don't even know how to change a tire.
Just like how you like to talk about Lao politics but have zero knowledge of what goes on in Laos in 2014.
Well you obviously don't know the culture then. According to precept 5 of Buddhism, one should not drink alcohol. Yet Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos all have national breweries. See the hypocrisy of religion? Yet you probably don't so I wont be surprised.
Anyone can claim they follow a culture, but maybe its just all for show . How does it get to be just a show, from a time when maybe it was a way of life.
Why don't you line up at your a nearby Wat and tell each visiting person that according to you they're wasting your time. You can have long debates and while your at it ask them how they feel about the Chinese moving into Laos. That is a popular discussion topic among average everyday Lao people.

It might be hard for them to hear me, over all the clatter of giant Fortuners, land cruisers, and Vigos waiting to park like this year at boun khao pansa. They might not take me serious because of my money and gold level. But tell me are these the same people you speak with daily about how 'upset' they are about the government? Look well off to me.
Nope, you're wrong. Those people with the land cruisers are perfectly happy with everything. Can care less for them. Take a bus ride around Laos and you'll soon realize the vast majority of Lao people don't even own cars.

You sure you have been back to Lao in the past 3 years? Maybe you haven't been in the quite large traffic jams that occur every morning and evening. I should buy a car camera to record all the luxury and high end cars here. Then we can do some basic math, because they can't all be owned by just party members. I am thinking in Vientiane at least 200,000 to 400,000 people have cars. Add in all of the Korean cars on lease ( monthly payments 200-500$) and it seems like half or more of Vientiane have cars.
Of course I have ridden the blue bus and even the green bus. I like public transportation. Don't mind it at all. You should be with me then, capitalist mindset believe poor people are poor because they are lazy. I have never thought that. I always look out for the working class and peasant class.
Chulalongkorn aka Rama 5 was told during his time that there would be only 9 Ramas. Bhumibol was also told the same thing. Lo and behold his son Sia O who was supposed to be Rama 10 turned out to be a dud.

Rama I, Rama III and Rama IX were all told the same thing.
