I'm talking about how the people behave. It has nothing to do with RLG or LPDR. I'm talking about good people and bad people. The Asean economic community will have no mercy on anyone. But the Lao PDR officials signed themselves into it and the lazy people of Laos will have to live with it.
Not just Lao in Laos but in America as well. Only 50% of Lao in America graduate high school and fewer finish college. Many joingangs and do other criminal activity. They think they are rich but they only by on credit, which in Laos doesn't happen and people live within their means. I think Lao in America should fix their own situation first before telling at Lao Pdr
People in Laos don't value real education. They rather learn about skin lightening creams, gucci purses and Thai soap operas. The daily education of the daily Lao.
For someone that claims to live in Laos, he sure does like to talk about Lao Americans. Talking about how old Lao men can't speak English. Not everyone can learn English at a young age like himself. How would he know that if he didn't live in the US.
People see whats going on in Laos with their own eyes.

Seriously, this isn't even funny. It's sad.
People in Laos want to live like those in more developed countries but don't understand what it takes to live that way.
The Lao leaders believe that just because they had "others" build golf courses, casinos, malls for them that they're in good shape. Forget about hospitals.
Rich Lao people don't even spend money in Laos. They spend all their money in Thailand, the West, Japan, Korea. They get all their medical/plastic surgery needs taken care of in Thailand. They buy their clothes/cars in Thailand. More and more are going to Europe and Japan/Korea for shopping. Some of these Lao people do nothing but travel/shop all day everyday. It's crazy. Even middle and poorer Lao people shop in Thailand.
I find it funny that a lot of food is MORE expensive in Laos than in Thailand. I did not pay much attention to this until some tourist pointed it out to me. People in Laos say it's because a lot of food in Laos is imported from Thailand. OMG!! Lao is fully capable of producing their own food but they don't and are not encouraged too. They're not encouraged to do anything.
Right now people in places like Vientiane/Savannakhet cross over to Nongkhai/Mukdahan to do their grocery shopping and go back to Laos because it's cheaper.

I shop at Tang Frere , Asean Mall and small markets . Last time I went to Lotus (december) the prices weren't that different than in Vientiane. Americans buy most of their stuff made in China but they hate China isn't that funny?
Is that why westerners travel and do business in China every year??
Keep pulling bull**** out of your ass.
The Lao PDR loves the west. That's why they go skiing in Europe and send their kids to study in the west. They just dislike Lao Noks because Lao Noks would get in the way of their crooked ways. It's all about business to them.

The Americans need to have a bogeyman to hate. It was Japan in the 1980s, but now it is a strong ally of the US and a bulwark against China. Today that role has been filled by China.
From the hysterics of Trump to the writings of economist Paul Krugman, who argues that China manipulates its currency to keep Americans unemployed, pundits are painting China as evil everywhere you look.
To listen to New York senator Charles Schumer, America's economic ills are due more to poor Chinese slaving away for $150 a month making iPads and Nike sneakers than the excesses of Wall Street and the American inability to live within its means.
The stakes are much higher than just $2 trillion dollars in investment. China could emerge as a serious threat. Right now they are not. Most people in China actually like Americans – and not just common folk. One high-ranking official who often gets pilloried in the Western press told me, “I don’t understand why they keep criticizing us. I love America.”
Xi Jinping, the next likely president of China, has sent his daughter to Harvard, so have several senior Chinese politicians in recent years.
However, Chinese also have a deep mistrust of the US government because they know its rhetoric can get heated and they view the U.S. as a war-loving nation. But China has the potential to rival American military power in coming decades. It also has a chip on its shoulder about being kept down by foreign powers from over a hundred years ago during the Qing Dynasty period.
To offset growing tension, we need more economic interdependence. It’s a lot easier to get people to come to the table and talk rationally when money is at stake.
Much of the blame lies with President Obama, who has not clearly defined the U.S. relationship with China. Are we allies? Friends? Enemies? The American public looks to the president to define relationships with other countries and his administration needs to do that this week during the Strategic Economic Dialogue between the two countries.

Everyone visits Laos yearly. Some 2-3 times a year and are more privy to whats going on in Laos than some youngster that thinks he's still in the 80's.

LOL ok i guess. I can say things too without any evidence. On the internet anyone can say things and call them "truth." Hey I have inside information that the Vietnamese are moving Hanoi to Vientiane to make Hanoi Capital number 2 That should make you Lao norks start going crazy
What don't you understand you dodo. They go and see things for themselves. Lao Overseas were the first people to start going back to visit when the Lao PDR first allowed it in the early 90's. The first families that went were those related to top Lao PDR officials like the Sou*****vong Family who actually went back to live in Laos and became rich. Half of their family lives in Australia, Thailand, and the US and the other half are top officials in Vientiane. Some of Nouhak's , Khamtai's, Kaisorn's children/grandchildren live in the west and intermingle with other Lao Noks. They're up to date with whats going on. They are straightforward when they say their families in Laos are all about money and nothing else.
When Bouasone had to step down the Lao News said it was because of "family matters". But Lao Noks already know that he had multiple Vietnamese mistresses and children by them. All his mistresses had become rich. Even more so than his major wife LOL.
Your an idiot. All the stuff people talk about on here is fact. We see things with our own eyes and almost every Lao Nok has relatives in Laos that they talk to regularly. All you talk about is stuff that happened in the past and put a "twist" to it and your 60's bs that Lao people in general don't care about anymore. You also love to go off topic. If you really wanted to talk about your bull**** you can start your own topics and no one would read them LOL. You think Lao people don't like history? Lao Noks lived it. I've read the Lao PDR history books and it's full of bull****. Put in a lot of bull**** and leave out a lot. Lao can learn history just by talking to each other and sharing stories because everyone lived it.
Like i said the Lao PDR "tried" very hard to put a wedge between Lao Noks and Lao Nais and they could not. Those are just terms. People inside and out still see each other as Lao. You know that. I don't know if your just trolling or what.
The opening poster needs to stop being a cry baby. No one made him move to Laos, impregnate a Lao woman, marry her, and make investments.
But some of what he says is true.
To understand Laos' current conditions you have to deeply study Lao history. I'm not talking about reading a book or two either. There was a time when the Thais and Khmers considered Laos the center for study. You also have to understand the era post french colonization. Laos never had a chance to get on it's feet.
You should read the book written about Souphanouvong with an interview with him on his death bed. He shares insight of why Laos is the way it is. I forgot the name of it but it shouldn't be hard to find.
During the reign of Souriyavongsa Laos was the center of study for the Souvannaphoumi Kingdoms(Laos, Cambodia, Thailand(Lanna, Ayutthaya). Lao come from a rich heritage.
Right now Laos is in the situation it is in because the Vietnamese run Laos. A lot of the people in Laos you think are Lao are actually Vietnamese. Fools like Thongsing/Chounmlay answer to them. Simple answer.
Always BIG mistake if anyone moves to Laos. All those rats lao people are just savages. Give them a fancy phone and a car and look what happens; accidents and addiction. Where are the good ol' laos time? F*ck you ALL you cry babies. The world is big enough. Who said that you have to stay there? Stop being a drama king/queens. Yo've been respected LONG TIME ago, BUT not anymore. You are zero to this Planet! ZEROS

If you hate Laos so much why are you on this board? Practically 3/4 of the world has no idea where Laos is on a map and at least that many don't care about it. You are the one looking stupid barking on here about a tiny nation. The world is big enough yet you whine and complain about Laos.
lol give them a fancy phone? You are aware that a large portion of the world are addicted to cell phones and internet right? Unless you are living on some remote island in the middle of nowhere.
