Every time I start a small construction job it ends up costing more. At first I think it’s going to be easy and cheap, but then some new thing comes up. Sometimes it’s permits, sometimes materials, or the workers take more time than we thought. All those little things make the cost go up fast.

I had this one room remodel, I thought it won’t be much, but the price almost doubled. That’s when I learned how important construction estimation really is. It doesn’t fix everything but it helps to know what you’re getting into.
