LAOS, March 16 (KPL) - The Lao Airlines will lower the prices of tickets on international routes by 20 to 30 percent next month to attract more foreign tourists to Laos over the New Year festival in April.
The airline saw a 40 percent decrease in the number of passengers during the current high tourist season compared to the same period last year as a result of the global financial crisis.
The declining passenger numbers had forced the airlines to revise its 2009 revenue forecast, which was initially set at 30 percent, the airlines’s commercial director said. The revised figure was not revealed immediately.
The Lao Airlines currently offers trips from Vientiane to Bangkok, Hanoi, Siem Reap, Kunming and a number of Asian cities. (KPL)
