There is an ANZ  ATM booth in front but I don't think this is a bank. I never went inside but I walk pass it everyday for a week. Music is always blasting from that place. This is a pub/bar name Sakuran.

I don't know the name of the road where those Tuk-Tuk parking but they are there all the time. There are many hotel down that road.  About 3-4 building down there is a restaurant. I don't know the name but the food is good. Don't eat at the open restaurants along the Mekong unless you are prepared to be ripped off.
There is also a Korean minishop further down. Across Sakuran is Wat Chanh.

I agree with you but its called Inter City Hotel. I tried to book for a suite room which is very cozy and great view of the Mekong, but its always fully booked. So I ended up staying at the other hotel on the next block.

Opposite on the right side is a Buddhist temple; opposite in front is the Mekong lined with so many riverside restaurants. Along that road on the right you can find some shops that sell very nice "sinh" and blouses made of Lao silk. There is also a bookshop where I traded pocketbooks and a grocery store. And if you continue to walk parallel to the temple you can find a store called village people or sounds like that (I forgot), where you can find class A imitation of branded products like Gucci and LV.

But be careful women!!! ........in front of the buddhist temple is very dark at night. Theres a couple of ******s on motorbike who are fond of picking up "lao girls" at night. They talk sweet but be careful they can be agressive , can't accept refusal and will just grab you if you come near (coz they stay on the motorbike)... I encountered them once and outsmarted them. They were shocked and mad at me not believing that women can outsmart them! biggrinwink Since then I became more conscious, especially of them and I noticed that its their habit and do almost everynight. disbelief
