They bought it from China with orders from PM office, but it's too small, too slow, and only runs for 2 hours per charge, so difficult to do long haul. Rather unpopular because the battery often dries up in the middle of the route.
This is one of the Coruption processes in Lao. Even in China public transports they also not to use this bus cos it coz lots of problem

Not true my niece worked hard, she still manage to buy a car, you can have a look at her shop at Simuong opposite the gas station. One of my nephew has a girlfriend who also owns a car by loaning money from bank and with that car she let people rent or provide Tour around Lao, Thailand, and Vietnam. I am not so young now and I don't own much things only a Home Theatre system that's what I have.
two hours run /charge. take 8 hours to charge top speed 40km/hrs. come on Chinese souds like golf cart I heard Japanese will build the Electric car wich will run at the top speed off 120km/hrs , takes only 15-20mn to full charge and can run 160km/charge
