Dear Lao Friends!!

I am Thai, From Bangkok Thailand.
I will go to Middle Lao From BKK.-Nakhompranom-Thakhaek-Laksao-Vinh-BKK. in August 2010 around 4 days- 3 nights for Travel.

Please tell me !
How go to Lak sou - Vinh By bus and rest room or Homestay?

Travel is my Best Hobby!!

When you come from Bangkok to Savannakhet (crossing the bridge from Moukdahan) I believe there are buses in Savannakhet go to lak 20 or km 20 and to Vietnam....like Hue, you should stay in Guess Houses because it will cost less than Hotels, asking people in Savannakhet they will tell you more about your plan. I have airplane ticket from BKK.-Nakhonpranom-BKK. at evening time and crossing Nam-Khong to Thaekhaek.

I will stay in  Thaekhaek 1 night at nearby bus station and
go to Lak sou tomorrow morning.

So you are on the right way, you just jump on the bus going via Lakxao to Vinh Vietnam or you might arrive at Nghe Anh a peaceful town (Ho Chi Minh Birth place) at about four in the evening, check in in a hotel nearby the seaside that you might take a bath in before dinner at a restauarant or you could enjoy the grilled crabs or shrim at the seaside before going back to the hotel...Iforgot, enjoy the honking too ! Good luck !

You might need visa to vietnam (or u have open travel for SE nations?) which cost U.S. $45  for 15 days.  Our bus did not stop in Vinh on the way to hanoi but there are some preparations before u go.  The bus made only two stops, 1 to refuel for 10-15 minutes and another for about 40 minutes for lunch.  There is no public restrooms other then those two stops.  Bring something to listen to since the bus honks their horn at everything around them even when there is nobody around all day/night long.
Bring a few friends since it's not advisable to travel by yourself there.
